1. What is the Children's Poetry Bookshelf?

The Children's Poetry Bookshelf is a book club offering poetry written for children, It has its own website, which includes lots of fun stuff on poetry for children. It's also a place where your mum, dad, grandparents, teacher or library can join and buy books online.

2. What's the point of being a member?

You get the best poetry books sent to you three times a year. If your parents or grandparents join, then the books will be posted to you. And they can buy more poetry books for you at a cheaper price.

3. Can I send you my poems?

Please do send us your poems. We'll put the best ones on the site for everyone to read. Get your parents' permission and then email them to us.

4. Can I review my favourite poetry book or poem on the site?

Get you parents' permission to send us any reviews or comments and we'll put the most interesting ones on the site.

5. How often do you put new stuff on the site?

We're going to put new stuff on the site as often as we can, so do pop back to look for news, new poems, reviews and books.

6. Can you interview my favourite poet on the site?

We can certainly ask them if they'd be prepared to be interviewed, so get your parents' permission to email us to tell us who you'd be interested in.

7. How can I get my mum, dad or grandparents to make me a member of the Children's Poetry Bookshelf?

Only adults can be members of the CPB, but an adult can join and get the books sent to you. Here's how to join.

8. Why can't I join on my own?

We'd love to have you, but only grown-ups are allowed to join, although you can be the one who gets the books, and anyone can use the website.

9. Does the CPB organise live children's poetry events?

Yes, the CPB organises a big poetry-writing competition for children every Autumn. Click here for more details.

10. Can you get any poetry book written for children?

Once your grown-up has joined, they can order any poetry book for children published in the UK at a reduced price. If they are not a member, they can order from our sister-site, the Poetry Bookshop Online

11. How can I find what I'm looking for on the site?

The easiest thing is to use the Search box at the top of the page.

12. Do you know about other children's sites?

We're working on a list of them, here's what we've got. It would be great if you could email your favourites to us so that other kids can enjoy them too!
