Are you a children's librarian or school librarian who would like to inspire and encourage a love and understanding of poetry in young readers aged 7 - 11?

We value our Library members highly and are therefore offering new members not just a free copy of The Poetry Store but also a free copy of The Thing that Mattered Most, an anthology edited by Julie Johnstone, the Librarian at the Scottish Poetry Library, and with a preface by Michael Morpurgo. This wonderful collection of Scottish poems for children won the 2007 CLPE Prize.

Reading poetry is one of the best and most engaging ways for children to learn about language and to start writing themselves. Every library would like to offer the best and most up to date selection of books available, and the Children's Poetry Bookshelf brings this easily within reach. The CPB offers an excellent range of the best children's poetry being written, and it supports librarians in their task of bringing new books to young readers.
